Not quite ready to lead and direct my own video project as a first-year AV student, I managed to convince my AV advisor to allow a behind-the-scenes (BTS) production. Little did she know this was merely my application to prove my validity as a future student leader in the course.
The local film contest that our school competed in each year always revolved around re-creating an iconic movie scene. In the previous year, the class tackled Mean Girls. This year, 2018, we chose Napoleon Dynamite’s memorable dance scene.
As the BTS team leader, my partner and I filmed the daily happenings of the sets and interviewed key members of the team/cast.
Once the project complete, I got the blessing by my advisor to tackle more projects, many of which are included in my videography portfolio.
