Hawk Flock News

Beginning in eighth grade, my creation of the student news program Hawk Flock News grew into a live-streamed sketch-based news broadcast for my high school peers.

More Information

  • Starting as a hair-brained idea by eighth grade Konner, Hawk Flock News eventually aired to my high school as a live broadcast my junior and senior years.

As director, at times writer, and producer of the show, I worked with my AV classmates and advisors to make the best sketch-comedy news broadcast we could feasibly produce.

When considering the sketchy GitHub software tools, and at times spotty internet, our show was quaint and humble in all the best ways.

Hawk Flock News never saw its final planned “farewell” episode due to the COVID-19 pandemic’s ravaging of our senior year of high school.

  • The project was filmed using three DSLR cameras, rooted through an open-source capture software, to OBS, which was manned by a touchscreen command center, then live-streamed to YouTube.

Lavalier microphones were used as audio for the live broadcast.

Adobe Premiere Pro was used to edit pre-filmed video segments.

  • I served as director of the Hawk Flock News project.
