As president of my school’s National Beta Club chapter, I knew I wanted to lead our students into new opportunities. My presidency led to advocating for a greater activity at the state and national levels — two things we achieved by the end of my term in 2020.

Under my leadership, my high school attended both the Illinois State and National Beta Club Conventions and competed in competitive events for the first time. In fact, in our first year of competing and attending, our school took home two first place titles at the state level.

Being granted the right to compete at nationals in Fort Worth, TX was amazing for our club members’ morale… Unfortunately, we didn’t get to attend the conference due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

We did, however, get to compete virtually, from which we brought home two national placements!

In the years following my high school graduation and term as Beta Club president, our chapter has continued to compete at state and national level events, even attending nationals at Walt Disney World in 2021.

The project was filmed using DSLR cameras.

Lavalier microphones were used for audio.

Adobe Premiere Pro was used to edit the video.

I served as director, camera operator, and editor of the technology project in addition to my role as president of my Beta Club chapter.
