More Information

  • This PSA served as the second place entry into the annual Safe Rides Save Lives PSA Contest — a joint effort by the National FCCLA and The National Road Safety Foundation.

Being the fourth year of entry into the contest for our school, with multiple titles taken previously, we knew this year would be difficult. However, we persisted, choosing to capture a dark “what-if” surrounding the year’s prompt: Driving Safely on Prom Night.

Slow motion video and a simulated crash scene culminated into a startling, yet effective, PSA.

  • The project was filmed using a Canon cinema camera.

Various lighting effects and slow motion, high frame-rate video was used.

Adobe Premiere Pro was used to edit the video.

  • I served as director, camera operator, and editor of the project. I also wrote portions of the PSA’s script.
